Seals, seabirds, otters, sand and sunshine await you in this part of the Russian River. Jenner, CA is a special place. It is where the Russian River meets the Pacific Ocean.
The landscape at this part of the Russian River is less dense and has wider vistas than the upper part of the Russian River. The wind often kicks up in the early afternoon making paddling towards the mouth of the river a bit challenging. There is also the possibility of tidal influence especially when the mouth of the river is open to the Pacific.
In spite of what may be considered drawbacks due to the climatic and nautical challenges, you are likely to see more wildlife on the Jenner trip than on any other part of the Russian River!
Fresh sea air makes kayaking Jenner a rejuvenating and healthy experience!
